Fan Fiction Friday!

After being absent from lunchboxing for almost six years, Mike Spiegelman is back in true pro form, as the channeler of this week's Fan Fiction piece: Marley's Dream. What has he been doing this whole time? Channeling this week's Fan Fiction piece: Marley's Dream! Needless to say, it's perfect. So read it, right?

If you haven't already, buy the Lost in Translation soundtrack. It's killing me. And don't forget about the Jim Yoshi Pile-Up show on Sunday... More info here and below. And what else... Oh yeah, the Recall election. Don't forget about this. That's all.

He's Crafty

My apologies for the delay in our regularly scheduled Wednesday reviews on cheese and music and sometimes bread and this time mustard. My place of work decided they actually wanted to give me "work" to do yesterday. I was confused and scared. Unsure how to proceed with said work, I opened up an Excel spreadsheet, typed in some numbers and sent it to my boss as an "attachment." No one has said anything yet, so I assume it was the "work" they were looking for. Moving on...

We are working out the final kinks in the new New Expression web page, but for now, check out the sweet, sweet New Expression Fall Classic logo by Michelle Romo. As for the show, we have 5 great artists, three sweet-tit musical groups, and a bunch of ha-larious videos in the making. October 25th people, October 25th. LOTS more details coming very soon. Promise. In the meantime, if you are itching for live entertainment, you can check out lunchboxers Frankie Koeller and Noah Blumberg's band, The Jim Yoshi Pile-Up at The Hemlock Tavern in San Francisco's hip, trendy, and extremely dirty "Tenderknob" district this Sunday evening. More info here.

Lastly, here is the latest review on cheese and music by Stephen Cody... right... here. This week we feature a Havarti Cheese, a variety of mustards, and Outkast, Nick Cave, and 95 South. Yes, 95 South.

People in Los Angeles say "backstory" a lot. It's some
kind of movie industry thing. It means "the story
behindthe story." Or maybe that's the
substory. But no, I think the substory is the story
beneath the story. Anyway, what I'm writing
here is the story before the story of
lunchboxer Jeremy Padow's meeting with movie producer
Robert Evans, the man behind such stories as
The Godfather and Chinatown. Which makes
Evans himself a backstory. I think. I haven't
lived in L.A. that long. Click here to read!
