Return to Boneton, Alaska![]() I was never sure this day would come. After first being pre-empted by the seemingly endless war coverage, then by the seemingly more endless post-war coverage and analysis, and finally by an extremely long marathon of Sanford and Son repeats, Boneton, Alaska has finally made its way back to the airwaves. I know, it's been a while, so you may want to make a return trip to Boneton Alaska, Part One: Heavy Exposition. Also, if you are new to Boneton, Alaska, I suggest you begin there...rest assured the town will welcome you with open arms. Remember, my friends...Boneton is a magical and dangerous place, both sensual and terrifying, where eroticism and adventure await around every corner. So, be careful what you wish for... Enough! It is with great joy that I invite you to join me for: Boneton Alaska, Part Two: Dangerous Frenching. bullied by Jason Betrue on 5/30/2003 :: Eternal Flam ![]() Ladies and gentlemen, readers of lunchboxing.com, I come to you today with a worried heart. I fear we may have lost our own Jamie Flam...for good. Before I continue, I would like you to read the evidence for yourself. Please, before reading on, read the Troubling Email I Recieved from Jamie Flam. Having read that, I am sure you now share my concern. As of 12:53 PM, PT, today, I have not heard form Jamie in nearly 12 hours. Twelve hours! Granted, I have not tried to contact him, or made any efforts to communicate with anyone he might be in communication with, and was asleep for the majority of that timebut still, I am used to his hourly phone calls. His minutely instant-messages. Friends, I am scared. Alas, I feel we must prepare for the worst. I never dreamt this "one-time deal" as lunchboxing host could turn into a permanent gig. When Jamie said "Don't get used to it, fatty!" I listened to himI believed him. I never thought that I might, actually, have to get used to it. That being said, I've taken what I feel was a necessary step...for myself, and for everyone. I have dipped deep into my creativity, while channeling the spirit of Jamie Flam and created my own comic strip. I knew that Jamie would want me to stay true to my own creative inclinations, and not be overly influenced by anything he may have authored. I kept this in mind, and feel I have been successful in creating something new and wholly original that, even during this trying time, you can enjoy. It's with love and respect that I bring you Rhombus & Chuck. Thank you for reading, and I will keep you updated as more information becomes available to me. Your friend, j a s o n bullied by Jason Betrue on 5/29/2003 :: More Jingos, Less Babies ![]() It was what some might call inevitable. I have one shot at steering this ship and I have to go and get sick. I apologize for not posting anything earlier today, but as Plato once said "I literally feel like dogshit." However, as Socrates once said, "Ain't nothin' gonna break my stride. Nobody's gonna slow me down. Oh no. I got to keep on moving." So, right now I am going unleash two gems on you. One is LUBO all-star Paws O'Henry's review of the show "Scarborough Country." The other comes from newcomer Nicole Wells and addresses the ever-important issues of maternity and liquor in the new millennium. So, please enjoy: Paws O'Henry's review of "Scarborough Country" -and- Ketel One Kids by Nicole Wells More tomorrow. Stick a needle in my eye. Goodnight. bullied by Jason Betrue on 5/28/2003 :: Introducing...THUGBOT ![]() Hello again and Happy Tuesday. Okay, enough of the formalities, I'll get right to the goods, because we have something really special for you today. It is no secret that your friends at LUBO are huge supporters of the Robot Arts. Be it painting, poetry, filmmaking, sculpture or interpretive dance...if robots are doing it, we are there holding big-ass signs and cheering them on. Some examples of said signs might be: "got...bots?" or "If you think Bot Art is Not Art then FUCK YOU!!" Our passion for the artistry of bots, of course, does not exclude music. This is why we are thrilled to give you a sneak-peek at an up-and coming robot Hip-Hop superstar. Lunchboxing superstar-tist Michelle Romo and myself recently attended an exclusive press conference with THUGBOT. I did my best to transcribe a portion of a track off of his highly anticipated debut album "Glitches and Hos," while Michelle was able to deliver a stunning portrait of the biggest thing to shake the world of Robot rap since Zapp. So, what are you waiting for? Introducing...THUGBOT!! bullied by Jason Betrue on 5/27/2003 :: A Memorial Monday Missive ![]() Hello kids. It was true what Jamie Flam said in his last blog: This week I, Jason Betrue, am in complete control of the destiny of this website. And, yes, when you think about it, that means I am in control of your destiny as well, since I feel comfortable in assuming that you are currently reading lunchboxing.com. I have the sneaking suspicion that 90% of our readers tune in from the workplace, and since practically noone is at work today, I figured I'd start out small...but tomorrow, and for the rest of the week, lunchboxing.com...or...as I like to call it...Jason Betrue's lunchboxing.com is going to come out swinging. But, here is a little something. I have two things on my mind today. One is Memorial Day, or, specifically "Memories." Not so much of our fallen veterans, but, you know, memories in general. The other thing on my mind is "Jamie Flam," because I already miss him so much that I've taken to the bottle. Once I started thinking about memories, and about Jamie Flam, and got completely shit-trashedI started thinking about the memories I had of Jamie Flam. One such memory is the story of how Jamie and I came to know one another. So, I've taken the step of typing that up for you all. Please enjoy "How I Came to Know Jamie Flam", have a Happy Holiday Monday, and we'll see you again tomorrow. bullied by Jason Betrue on 5/26/2003 :: |
